Results of Dec 2017

There were 61, 91 and 105 candidates sitting for the December 2017 examinations respectively in "Pharmacy Legislation in Hong Kong", "Pharmacy Practice" and "Pharmacology" with corresponding passing rates of 39 per cent, 24 per cent and 27 per cent.

The pass rates look about the same as last time, maybe slightly lower. A bit surprised to see so few people taking the Leg exam this time. Maybe its the time of year?? Or maybe the numbers are higher for the other two because of retakes.

Law lecture notes available

Copies of the powerpoint handouts used in the 2017 Forensics lectures are available from the Hong Kong Pharmacy Registration Exam Facebook group! Contact Sharon for more details, she is asking for a small donation to charity and/or intellectual contributions. I believe the current going rate is $100HKD plus three exam answers for the forum, or you can pay more if you don't want to post anything, and vice versa. Probably up for negotiation and change.

Forensic Lectures on Pharmacy Legislation 2017

The annual lectures are up again. They are in Cantonese, with English powerpoint presentations, as per typical Hong Kong style. They are helpful but you do need to study the legislation in your own time as well.

Here's the link.

Law lecture week 4 and 5

Yep, so I managed to attend them all this year. At the end of week 4 I got the impression they were going to have an open Q & A session in week 5, and that we should send them loads of questions or something. So last Friday I was waiting and waiting till the end, and then it turned out there was no general Q&A session after all, it looked like one person emailed them a question, and the guy actually asked for her at the end of the class, so I'm glad I didn't send them anything.
Someone asked the speaker at the end loads of questions about opening an online pharmacy in HK, the general gist of which I got was that in HK the legal requirements were such that to try and do so would be too complicated, and so even though many people have thought about doing it no one has done it so far.

Which is kind of a bummer for me, maybe I'll just have to go and open my own pharmacy, then I can do whatever I want lol
